Girls Inc
Do the Bang Thing Salon has always been a patron of confidence and inspiring those who come sit in our chairs to be unapologetically themselves.
Since the Summer of 2018 a portion of every single service has gone to Girls Inc. of Metro Denver. Girls Inc. is a nonprofit organization that encourages all young women to be "Strong, Smart, and Bold" through direct service and advocacy. This organization equips girls with the skills to navigate through economic, gender, and social barriers and to grow up as independent individuals.
As of 2022 we have donated over $15,000 and will continue to support Girl’s Inc in any way that we can.
Veterans
Do the Bang Thing Salon endeavors to give back to those who give the most. Undoubtedly, this means we want to support those who serve or have served. Our fearless leader, Toby, is an auxiliary member for the VFW Post 1 which is the first and oldest Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in existence.
As an actively engaged veterans organization located in Denver, Colorado, Post 1 continues the tradition of being on the forefront of service to veterans and to our country. In addition we also support the Healing Warriors Program, Healing Warriors Program opened July 2013 and is an organization serving the veteran community and their families by providing care therapies that integrate with a service member’s standard medical care in order to achieve the individual’s wellness goals and restore quality of life.
In our efforts to support these organizations every year since 2014 we have hosted an annual Veteran’s day Cut-A-Thon. Every member of our team cuts the hair of active and retired military, their families and friends. In lieu of accepting gratuity we take any money veterans and their families wish to leave us and make a donation split between these two organizations. In this small way we are able to serve those who have served and given so much for us.
