Owner | Red Head Specialist | Short Hair | Energy Intuitive
Meet me, Toby, with 25 years in the hair industry and nearly 14 years at the helm of Color House Denver (formerly known as Do the Bang Thing Salon), I’ve dedicated my life to the art of hair design. My journey began as a teenager, inspired by the stylists in my dad’s friend's salon. After completing a vocational cosmetology program in high school, I’ve only taken a break from my passion while raising my children.
Now remarried to a wonderful, like-minded man and entrepreneur, I enjoy life with my two adult children—whom I affectionately refer to as my younger siblings—as they pursue their studies here in Colorado. My days have shifted from late-night outings to tending to my 20 chickens, 4 dogs, and a horse.
In my free time, I love to cook and bake, work out, explore the outdoors, and practice bow hunting. With both kids in college, I’m looking forward to traveling more with my husband.
The highlight of my career is witnessing that transformative moment when a guest sees their beauty reflected in the mirror after a perfect haircut and color. I pride myself on building lifelong connections with my clients and excel in creating stunning looks for redheads, covering greys, styling curly hair, and crafting men’s and short haircuts.
Additionally, I offer energy healing as an intuitive service for those who seek it. I can’t wait to welcome you to one of my salon chairs and share my passion for hair design!

Level 4 | Coloring & Cutting Specialist
Andy or Andrew, recently relocated to Denver from New Jersey. But he began his journey into hair styling at a young age. Growing up in a family of hair artists, he was inspired to peruse a career behind the chair as well.
Continuing his education in NYC, Andy educated himself with big name academies such as TIGI, Sassoon, Goldwell, KMS California and many more. With a heavy neck for education, Andy perused a second career as an educator for KMS California. Sculpting the next generation of hair artist.
His favorite services include Lived in Color, Balayage, and Tradition Coloring Services. However he really enjoys Hair Cutting. He looks forward to seeing you in his chair.

Introducing Whitney, a proud Denver native who is thrilled to bring her talents to Color House Denver. Whitney's journey in the world of hairdressing began in 1999 when she started as a hair model for Toni + Guy. Following a brief foray into theatre and art school in New York, she discovered that her true passion for artistry and theatrics found its perfect outlet in the world of hair styling.
Throughout her career, Whitney has traveled extensively across the country, seeking out ongoing, advanced education from esteemed institutions such as TiGi, Bumble + bumble, Wella Color, Kevin Murphy, and J Beverly Hills, among others. Her dedication to learning and honing her craft has made her a versatile and skilled stylist.
In addition to her expertise in hair, Whitney is also a Usui Holy Fire Reiki practitioner, infusing her services with energetic healing. Her warm and welcoming demeanor creates an environment where clients feel not only heard, but truly understood. Each service she provides is personalized, reflecting her intuitive approach and artistic flair.
Whitney's areas of specialty include men's and women's haircutting, all coloring techniques, editorial and wedding hairstyling. She particularly excels in razor hair cutting, fine hair treatments, and blonding techniques. Her commitment to the art and integrity of hairdressing, as well as her passion for education and community, shines through in all that she does.
When she's not creating stunning looks behind the chair, Whitney can be found enjoying the great outdoors, practicing yoga, pursuing further education, attending live shows, volunteering in the community, and cherishing quality time with her family.

Hey there! I'm Lizzie, a Colorado native with roots in Vermont. At Color House Denver, your comfort and satisfaction are my top priorities, so please feel free to share your thoughts and feelings with me openly! As a stylist, my mission is to create a welcoming space where everyone can freely express themselves while we work together to bring your hair dreams to life.
While initially pursuing cosmetology school with a focus on makeup artistry, I discovered a deep love and passion for the transformative power of a fantastic hairstyle. I have a special fondness for medium to long length haircuts and creating beautifully blended dimensional colors. That said, I also enjoy experimenting with vibrant fashion colors for those looking to add a playful touch to their look.
When I'm not in the salon, you can often find me engrossed in a good book, expressing myself through writing, or breaking a sweat at the gym. I'm genuinely thrilled at the prospect of meeting you and assisting you in achieving your hair goals. Let's make those dreams a reality together!

Meet Amethyst! With 14 years of experience in the beauty industry, I graduated from Hair Dynamics in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 2010. I immediately began an apprenticeship with Aveda, where I honed my skills in Aveda hair color and cutting techniques. I worked with Aveda until 2015, when life brought me to Crested Butte.
During my eight years in the mountains, I immersed myself in the wedding industry, specializing in bridal hair and makeup, alongside color and cutting. It was a beautiful chapter filled with creativity, surrounded by wildflowers and the breathtaking purple mountains. However, after eight years, I grew weary of the long, heavy winters and small-town life, leading me to Denver in 2023. I’m loving it here!
I have a passion for working with all types of color—blondes, balayage, vivid hues, and grey coverage. I also specialize in cutting, particularly curly haircuts.
In my free time, I enjoy painting, lounging with my dog and two cats, watching horror movies, and traveling to new places!

Since becoming a licensed cosmetologist in 2021, I’ve been on a thrilling journey of artistic expression through the world of beauty. My love affair with hair began in my teen years, where I transformed my bathroom into a bustling salon, cutting and coloring my friends’ and sister’s locks with flair!
One of my absolute favorite services to offer is the stunning foilyage—whether you're dreaming of sun-kissed blonde or a bold, vivid hue, I believe everyone deserves a look that shines! I also adore crafting vivid colors, applying tape-ins, and mastering clipper cuts. Each style is a canvas waiting for your unique touch!
When I’m not creating hair magic, you can find me leveling up in video games or diving into the captivating worlds of anime. I cherish quality time with my amazing husband and our two adorable cats, who always keep life fun and lively!
As a full-time nail technician, I love pushing my creative boundaries with nail art that tells a story. A Colorado native and licensed Cosmetologist. Self expression through the art of hair was something Anya leaned into when she started cutting her own hair into a Mohawk at age 12. Since then, it has become her full-time passion. Anya loves the creativity she finds in doing hair both in hairstyles and color. She specializes in Long Layered Haircuts, Short Haircuts, Tradition Coloring, and Beard. She is also learning more energy work from co workers and is really loving it!
She is looking forward to becoming even more creative and growing her skills behind the chair at Color House Denver. With mullets and wolf cuts taking over the industry she’s sure it won’t be too difficult.
Outside of the salon Anya enjoys painting both watercolor and acrylic. She is also a huge comic book nerd, anything from Marvel and DC to weird short films turned graphic novel. She is so excited to meet you and help you create your next look.
Olivia A
Receptionist | Apprentice
Olivia is such a fun story as she was a guest of Color House Denver before embarking on her Cosmetology journey.
A Denver native, she has just graduated from Aveda, a very well known school and passed her licensing. She will be beginning some very intense post school training by owner Toby and the rest of the team. She is very excited about Curly hair and all the modern coloring techniques.
We are thrilled to watch her grow and will share more about her and her skills as we training and support her!
